What a great place to have an awesome experience jumping out of a perfectly good airplane! Started with a tandem a year ago and now working on my A license. The staff make this DZ the best in the state by far, friendly and very knowledgeable. If your jumping in Tennessee this is the place to go! They have the best aircraft (king air) and experienced pilots. All you have to do is enjoy the ride!
We waited about 4 hours before our jump, but it was cool to see all the other people going. There was a food truck there if you were hungry and a nice little observation area.
I was wanting to skydive for the longest and this place is awesome!!! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Did my first tandem and the AFF course here and have not regretted it at all. Understand the weather plays an enormous role in this sport; if the instructors feel that its too dangerous to jump, they have good reason. Their jumps number in the thousands easily and they will not purposely endanger their lives, let alone yours. If you schedule an appointment, it behooves you to check the forecast ahead of time so you wont be caught off guard by a storm that might be on the way. Also, be prepared to wait while before you get your chance jump out of an airplane. Everyone wants to jump and there is simply no way of getting everyone up in the air on the exact time you have chosen. This is a sport not an exact science. The staff here tries to accommodate all who come as best they can. Overall, if you want to jump out of an airplane for the first or hundredth time, this place is pretty awesome!!!!!
Did a tandem jump this weekend and had an awesome time! Weather was great, the staff was friendly, and the instructors were top notch. I highly recommend it and I'll go back again and get the video next time.
sometimes the weather sucks out there, but blaming the management for weather is a bit ridiculous. i have been a few times, the fun jumpers out there are hilarious, and the place is really awesome. the attention to detail with the gear is great., i have never seen tandem gear out there that i wouldn't jump myself. keep in mind tandem folks, skydivers want a safe jumps. if the morning crew gets held up, the afternoon is delayed. would you rush a doctor in surgery? no. these guys literally have you life in their hand. it's not six flags.
Last summer I wanted to mark skydiving off my bucket list and finally ventured out to Adventure Skydiving Tennessee in Waverly, TN. It's a short hour and a half drive from Nashville and easy to get to. The weather was wonderful and the staff was amazing. I walked in to the office and immediately was greeted by their bubbly staff. I filled out my waiver and was told the wait would be about an hour or two. I remembered reading my email confirmation that noted it could take anywhere from 2-4 hours and simply brought out my lawn chairs to watch the other tandems land! This made my jump much easier when it came to my time. A short hour later my name was called and I was harnessed up by my very knowledgeable instructor. He made me feel very comfortable and explained the whole jump from before entering the aircraft to how we were to land. I wasn't even nervous when we were about to exit the plane! It was exhilarating and I can't wait to go through the program to do it solo! I would suggest everyone to come to AST to experience falling through the sky! I LOVE THIS PLACE!
